I have the honour to invite reference to

my despatch No. 254 dated 2nd April, 1937, regarding

the grant of leave prior to retirement on 11th

December, 1937, to Mrs. R. Langley, Mistress Education

Department and to request that steps may be taken to recruit a graduate mistress to fill this vacancy. Particulars of the post in the usual form are enclosed

herewith.

I take this opportunity of enclosing also

copies of an application for appointment to the

Colonial Educational Service of Miss I. M. Blanchett

together with the necessary testimonials and a copy

of a report on this lady by the acting Director of

Education, Hong Kong.

3.

Miss Blanchett will be in England and

available for an interview at any time after the

middle of August and I shall be glad if she may

be considered for appointment to this vacancy in view of the fact that her experience and qualifications will be of special value in this Colony.
